About Me

India Stoughton headshotI’m a British-Irish-Indian freelance writer and journalist. I moved to Beirut in 2011 and was based there for eight years, reporting on Lebanon and the Middle East. In 2019, I spent six months reporting from Latin America. I have contributed to publications including The Economist, 1843 Magazine, CNN, Al Jazeera English, BBC Culture, The National, The Daily Star Lebanon, Monocle Magazine and Revolver Magazine, among others. I am the winner of the 2016 Anna Lindh Mediterranean Journalist Award for intercultural reporting and was shortlisted for a British Freelance Writing Award for Art and Design writer in 2021.
